Chennai is the cultural epicenter of South India. It is an important center for Tamil art, crafts and culture which is perpetuated in universities and performing art centres located at various parts of the city.

Rediscover the century old Tamil architecture, alongside the modern high-rises; classical dance alongside western dance forms.A number of fairs and festivals are celebrated to signify the unity and prosperity among people. Apart from religious festivals it also organizes several dance and music festivals to raise the cultural strength among people. Majority of the residents of the city are Tamilians migrated from different parts of Tamil Nadu. Along with Tamilians, a sizeable population of Telugu and Malayalees also reside here. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English are spoken by the people.
