Noted director Vikraman and actor Vijayakanth will come together for a movie soon. The duo had earlier teamed up to render a hit in ‘Vanathaipolae’.

Vijayakanth is on a high after the stupendous success of ‘Arasangam’. He is currently shooting for ‘Engal Aasan’. Vikraman's last venture ‘Chennai Kadhal’ did not do very well at the box office.

Expectations are high as the two come together again.

Sources say it would be a typical Vikraman movie laced with emotions. Obviously Vijayakanth fans cannot expect their 'Captain' totting guns and running behind terrorists in the film.

Script-writer turned director Renjit is said to be planning to make a Tamil film with Prithviraj and Karthika in the lead. He is currently directing a film titled Thirakkatha with Prithviraj in Malayalam in Kozhikode. It was Renjit who gave Prithviraj a break through his film Nandanam which became a huge hit six years ago.

Renjit, known to have made super hit films in the past, is going through a dull period. The last four films that he made have failed to make any impact in the box office. Rock n Roll, the last movie scripted and directed by Renjit, was a big flop even with a big star cast. The failure of Rock N Roll has cast a shadow in the career of the scriptwriter-director who is famous for his punch dialogues and flawless screenplay.

But given his talent and determination, it is obvious that he is just going through a bad patch and will come back strong. Ranjit will start the unnamed Tamil movie after he completes Thirakkatha.
