Following the footsteps of Goutham Vasudev Menon is his former associate Magizh Thirumeni. Quite like the mentor, the protégée too is making his debut with a breezy love story. Titled ‘Mundhinam Partheney’, the film is produced by Manickam Narayanan of Seventh Channel.
New- face Sanjay is the hero while Mumbai model Ektha plays the heroine. Vincent who was an assistant to ace cinematographer P C Sriram is cranking the camera. Music is by Thaman S, who is slowly but steadily carving a niche for himself in Tamil and Telugu film industries.
On the movie, Magizh says, “Mundhinam Partheney is a realistic story of romance between a software engineer and a dance exponent. The movie is inspired by events collected from experiences of my friends. While watching the film, fans will feel one with the characters.”
A huge set resembling a dance school was created to shoot some important sequences. “Art director Thotta Tharani took immense effort to come up with such a huge set at a cost of nearly Rs 50 lakh and it was erected using wood, glass and steel,” says Magizh.
“Colourful lights and unique props used for the set won the admiration of on-lookers. I sincerely thank my producer Manickam Narayanan and Thotta Tharani for this. Not only for the set, but Manickam Narayanan has invested a lot of money with immense belief on the story,” he adds.On his part, the producer, who had churned out big budget films like ‘Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan’ and ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’, says, “Mundhinam Partheney will lure youngsters to theatres. I am hopeful that Magizh would prove himself as a talented filmmaker with his maiden venture.”
Young musician Thaman says, “Love stories always provide music composers more scope. And I have experienced it in ‘Mundhinam Partheney’, thanks to Magizh Thirumeni’s script and the freedom given by Manickam Narayanan.”
“The album is a collection of breezy songs which, if my guess is right, would make the listener fall in love with it. Known for heavy beats in my earlier ventures, I have opted for soft songs this time, quite appropriate to the movie’s title.” Proving the music composer’s words, reports suggest songs from the movie have become chartbusters. And will the film become a blockbuster? Well, one has to wait and watch.
